Closing Week

Next week draws a close to the 2014-2014 school year.  Students are still working to complete projects, catch up, take final assessments and move on to the next grade!  8th Grade promotion is Wednesday, June 11th beginning at 1 pm.  Parents and families should have received the promotion materials. If you have not, please contact the DC office at 482-8410.

Thursday, June 12th we will have an all school get together outside for students to interact with their teachers from this year and their teachers for next year.  We are focused on fun, we will play basketball, 4 square, tether ball and a staff and student kickball game.  We will then have a cool summer snack and return to classrooms for goodbyes!

Congratulations and thanks to all of our performers, staff and families for an outstanding music concert last night.  The bands were phenomenal and the group and individual vocal performances absolutely rocked!

Leroy Butler Visits DC

As part of our efforts to increase Bully Awareness and continue our work with Bully Prevention, we took advantage of the opportunity to have Green Bay Packer Hall of Famer and Inventor of the Lambeau Leap Mr. Leroy Butler join us to share his message, "be a buddy, not a bully".  Mr. Butler spent an hour with the students grades 4-8 sharing his message in the DC gym and then met with small groups of students in our Little Theater.

Mr. Butler spent time with the students in Ms. Wiseley's class before his presentation and posed for pictures with students as well.
