Welcome Back-Preview of Events

Welcome back to all of our students and families!  We hope all are rested and rejuvenated as we enter the home stretch of the 2013-2014 school year.  Please mark your calendars for the following DC events and check your Wednesday Take Homes for further details:

Thursday May 1st-3rd Graders from Willow Glen tour DC beginning at 9:15

Thursday May 1st - SCIENCE NIGHT 5:30 to 8:30.  Ms. Krista will also be available for summer school registration if you were unable to register in April

May 21st-Student 1/2 Day

            

Spring Break

Spring Break begins at the conclusion of school today.  School resumes on Monday, April 28th at 7:50 am.

PTO MEETING

PTO MEETING WEDNESDAY APRIL 16th in the WILLOW GLEN LIBRARY

The Willow Glen/Deer Creek PTO would like to cordially invite you join us tomorrow night in the Willow Glen library.  There will be updates on the year so far as well as information regarding the PTO plans for moving forward as an integral partner with the St. Francis Schools.

Breakfast Reminder

A reminder that our breakfast program pilot takes place every morning in the DC cafeteria from 7:45 until 8:00 with hot breakfast items on Tuesday and Thursday. We begin breakfast 5 minutes before school starts for students who arrive early, but students are welcome to come and eat at any time during the service after their arrival.  If you are running late, grab and go options are available.

SPRING BREAK-NO School Friday the 18th

Spring Break begins Friday, April 18th.  Thursday is our last day for students before break.  School resumes on Monday, April 28th.

SUMMER SCHOOL REGISTRATION

A Reminder that Registration for Summer School will be held on Saturday, April 11th (tomorrow) from 8:30 until Noon in the Deer Creek Gym.

PAC

Our Next Parent Advisory Council Meeting will be held on Tuesday, May 6th in the DC Library at 5:30. Stay tuned for further details in take homes, on the blog and from the school messenger by phone.  An agenda will be posted on the blog as we move closer to the meeting date.

PARENT ADVISORY COUNCIL

THE NEXT PAC MEETING AT DEER CREEK WILL BE HELD ON TUESDAY, APRIL 8th IN THE DEER CREEK LIBRARY.

We will meet from 5:30 to 6:30 and discuss the implementation of Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports, the Breakfast Program Pilot, and Bully Prevention information for students and parents.

Parent Teacher Conferences

Thanks to all of our parents who came in to meet with teachers about their students' progress in school.  If you were unable to attend and would like to speak with your child's teacher, individual conferences after school can be scheduled.  Call the Deer Creek Office and you will  be forwarded to the teacher's voice mail box.  Leave a message and your student's teacher will call you back to schedule a meeting time.

Breakfast Program Update

Week one of the Pilot Breakfast Program is in the books.  Students have reported REALLY liking the hot breakfast items.  We continue to work on the timing part but SO FAR SO GOOD.
