WELCOME BACK!!

A Warm Welcome to our new students and families and Welcome Back to our returning students and families from the Deer Creek Staff!  We had an outstanding turn out for our Back to School/Meet the Teacher Night - Thank You!

The first day of school was exciting -  with many outstanding opportunities for staff and students to get to know one another and to add to the positive climate and culture here at DC!  We reviewed our Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) initiative, toured the building, and came together for our annual kickoff assembly.  A positive school climate enhances the learning environment for all.  Deer Creek is proud to note that we were recognized as a School of Merit for the second year in a row for our efforts in building a positive school environment by the Wisconsin PBIS Network.

Some Important Reminders

  • Shuttle service runs between Deer Creek and Willow Glen after school.  The DC/WG shuttle is now a paid service.  If you wish to participate in the shuttle service please contact Peggy Pfeffer at 414-482-8484 or stop by Peggy's office located in the DC library.
  • Before and After School Care as well as BEYOND THE BELL is provided by the YMCA. Registration for these services is provided by the Y.  Before and After School Care is located in the DC recreation building Community Education Room.
  • After School Traffic:  Please be aware of the many students being picked up and crossing Elizabeth Street After School.  Please be mindful of the posted speed limits and parking regulations.  The Saint Francis Police Department will be on site during the opening days of school.
  • Please be aware of the posted times that their is NO LEFT TURN on to Kinnickinnic Avenue during the school day.  Left hand turns during the busiest pick up and drop off times at DC causes traffic hazards.
  • SCHOOL STARTS AT 7:50 AM,  DISMISSAL TIME is 3:00 PM.  Students who are not participating in after school activities need to be clear of school grounds by 3:20 PM.
We are thrilled at the opportunity to continue to partner with our parents and families to provide the best education for our children!  Again, WELCOME BACK and here's to a great 2016-2017 school year!
