The Badger Exam

Upon return from Spring Break DC students will be participating in the Badger Exam 3-8.  The Badger Exam is an online assessment that serves the purpose previously served by the WKCE exam which was a paper and pencil test.

This is the first year of implementation for the Badger Exam and there have been many changes regarding the test since the planning stages began.  DC staff have been preparing for months for implementation and we will continue to roll with the changes.

Please take a look at the take home materials next week Wednesday.  There will be valuable information in regard to the Badger Exam for students and parents including scheduling information. For the 2 weeks of test administration our daily schedule will be significantly different that our regular instructional day.  There will be adjustments to lunch periods and specials, and students will be asked to observe silent transitions as both of our computer labs and library will be used for testing. All 5 of our grade levels are tested for the Badger Exam so the challenge of maximizing testing time and testing resources makes it necessary to be flexible in our scheduling.

The first day of Spring!  Hopefully, the coldest days are behind us!  Thanks to all of our parents, guardians, and family members who joined us for parent teacher conferences last night. Communication between home and school is supremely important for student success!

Congratulations to our DC Science and Robotic Students who were honored by our Mayor Tuesday night with a proclamation of DC Inspiration Day.  The kids were recognized for their efforts in utilizing our 3D printer technology to develop prosthetic hands for children in need.

DC Science Night has been rescheduled for May 28th.  Continue to look for information in take homes, on the web page, and on this blog.

The 4th quarter is right around the corner.  We are in the home stretch.  Here's looking forward to warm weather and a strong finish to the 2014-2015 school year!
